Eritrea’s Central Region Boosts National Blood Reserves Through Community Drive

A remarkable display of civic solidarity unfolded in Eritrea’s Central Region as local public servants and veteran organizations mobilized to support the healthcare system. A total of 133 units of blood has been voluntarily donated in the Central Region to help replenish the blood supply of the National Blood Transfusion Service and save lives.

The successful initiative drew strong participation from across the administrative spectrum. Specifically, the voluntary blood donation was conducted by staff members from all branches of the Central Region administration, as well as members of the Bleqat association of veteran fighters.

Beyond the immediate medical impact, participants expressed a profound sense of civic duty and moral purpose. Individuals involved in the program said that they felt a sense of spiritual satisfaction from taking part in the life-saving initiative by donating blood, which is naturally replenished by the body. They also called on others to follow their noble example.
